2020 Team of Distinction
The inaugural honoree for the Team of Distinction award was the Buffalo Bisons Hockey Franchise. The Bisons existed from 1928 through the 1970 season. The franchise won seven titles, which included International Hockey League (IHL) championships (1932 and 1933) and five American Hockey League (AHL) Calder Cup championships (1943, 1944, 1946, 1963 and 1970). The Bisons are one of the most successful professional franchises in Buffalo sports history and was instrumental in Buffalo landing an NHL franchise in 1970.
